'CAN YOU IMAGINE A WORLD WHERE FOOTWEAR IS MORE THAN A COMMODITY?
and where walking and running are more than something functional to go from point A to B?

Our research on walking and making integrates design anthropology, biomechanics, and the study of footwear, primarily involving cobblers and experts from diverse fields. We aim to enhance understanding of the body-culture connection through Indigenous dialogue, impact applied design practices and education, and promote knowledge co-creation.

The core research activities are based at KASK & Conservatorium, School of Arts in Gent (BE) with biomechanical research conducted in partnership with the University of Liverpool’s Evolutionary Morphology and Biomechanics Group (UK).
