Kristiaan D'Août is a biomechanist with a zoology background (Antwerp University) and with a long-standing interest in human locomotion. He works in the Evolutionary Morphology & Biomechanics Group of the Institute of Ageing and Chronic Disease at the University of Liverpool. His current work focusses on the understanding human locomotion on complex substrates and in ecological setting. The effect of footwear is a core aspect of his work and he runs several projects related to the effect of footwear gait. D'Août teaches biomechanics and has written about 65 publications on evolutionary morphology and biomechanics.
